1st Lower Morden was founded on 17th September 2005 by the amalgamation of two groups, 4th Morden and 7th Morden.

4th Morden History

The 4th Morden can trace their roots back to 1934 when the 12th Morden was founded. We list below the dates when various changes took place in its history.

  • 1934 – 12th Morden was founded – Rutland Drive area
  • 1948 – 15th Morden was founded – Met in Hillcross School
  • May 1957 – 12th Morden’s new HQ officially opens in Bow Lane. Plans are made to share it with the 15th Morden.
  • 1967 – 12th and 15th Morden merge to form the 4th Morden

7th Morden History

The 7th Morden can trace their roots back to 5th February 1935 when the 13th Morden was founded. We list below the dates when various changes took place in its history.

  • 5th January 1935 – 13th Morden was founded.
  • 18th March 1935 – 18th Wimbledon was founded.
  • 27th November 1945 – 18th Wimbledon is renamed 18th Wimbledon (Raynes Park)
  • 13th November 1952 – 18th Morden (St John Fisher) was founded
  • 1st May 1956 – 17th Morden (St Martins) was founded
  • 26th February 1968 – 18th Wimbledon (Raynes Park) is renamed 18th Wimbledon (Cannon Hill Lane)
  • 8th August 1968 – 18th Morden (St John Fisher) and 18th Wimbledon (Cannon Hill Lane) merge to form 18th Wimbledon (Cannon Hill Lane)
  • 11th November 1968 – 13th Morden and 17th Morden (St Martins) merge to form 7th Morden
  • 13th July 1970 – 7th Morden and 18th Wimbledon (Cannon Hill Lane) merge to form 7th Morden
