Autumn Term 2020 Subscriptions

Date: 17th Sep 2020 Author: Andrew Hayward

As most of you are aware the Autumn Term has started and now would be the time when we would normally charge subs. The Group Executive Committee have been in regular contact since the lockdown started and we have all agreed on a way forward.

I am afraid that the group cannot afford to offer all the youth members a free term as there are still considerable expenses that need to be met such as the utility bills, the purchase of badges for example and also the annual insurance premium for the HQ buildings and equipment. This came in at £2000. Because of the lockdown we are not receiving the usual amount from the Bow Lane Pre School either. If we offered a free term then we would also reduce our income by approximately £2000 too and as Group Scout Leader and as a trustee of the group this is something  I am not happy or comfortable with.

The Executive Committee have therefore decided the following. If you are able to then we would very much welcome the usual full amount of £35/£25. If you are unable to pay the usual termly amount then that is fine and we would be very grateful for reduced amount of £20. However if you wish to pay the £20 please can you advise me privately so I can make the treasurer aware.  If you are not able to pay either amount because of furloughing, redundancy or any other situation then please be assured that you child will NOT miss out on their Scouting experience. They can still continue to be a member of our Group. All I ask is that you please contact me privately and we will make the necessary arrangements. It is not a problem. We just need to know.

Scouts have already returned and it is my hope the Beavers & Cubs will soon follow. Please await further announcements for that.

Cubs will revert to the usual full amount in January 2021 but I will give you a reminder about that nearer the time!

*** Payments can only be made online.***

We cannot accept cheques or cash. If you need our bank account details then please contact me directly.

Please ensure that you put your child’s surname and section as the narrative (eg: Hayward, Beavers, Cubs or Scouts).

Thank you for your continued support. As I have mentioned above please feel free to contact me either via this email or privately if you would like to discuss anything further.

Keep safe and keep well.
